Marshall University is seeking a Research Analyst/Grant Writer to support the transformative Marshall for All projecta bold initiative providing students with a debtfree pathway to bachelors degrees and career readiness . This position will play a pivotal role in evaluating the programs impact analyzing student success metrics and securing additional funding to ensure longterm sustainability. The role is fully grantfunded for the first four years with a gradual decrease in grant support in subsequent years. As the funding reduces it will be the responsibility of the successful candidate to acquire additional external funds to sustain the position ensuring its continuation beyond the sevenyear grant period. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional passionate about datadriven evaluation funding acquisition and advancing equity in higher education . Key Responsibilities Research & Evaluation : Collect analyze and report on qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate program effectiveness (e.g. retention graduation rates job placements and postgraduation salaries). Develop and execute advanced methodologies including DifferenceinDifferences (DiD) Propensity Score Matching PSM and longitudinal analyses. Grant Writing : Proactively research develop and submit competitive grant proposals to secure additional funding. Produce compelling grant reports policy briefs and presentations for funders and institutional leadership. Develop and execute strategies to acquire external funds that will sustain this position beyond the grant period. Budget Management & Collaboration : Work closely with the Marshall University Research Corporation to manage budgets expenditures and financial reporting for grants under Academic Affairs and the Presidents Office. Partner with the Marshall University Foundation to align funding strategies and ensure financial stewardship for the Marshall for All project. Monitor grant spending to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and timelines. Data Infrastructure Development : Build tools for tracking program success and benchmarking outcomes against peer institutions and national trends. Ensure data accuracy transparency and usability for decisionmaking. Stakeholder Engagement : Present findings at conferences webinars and workshops. Collaborate with faculty administrators and external partners to inform program strategy and foster funding partnerships.
