Dr. Jamaspishvili is looking for students who will immediately be available to work on an ongoing immunooncology research project in her lab. Dr Jamaspishvili is conducting translational and clinical cancer research projects in collaboration with other clinical departments (hematologyoncology urology radiology) and disciplines (computer science bioinformatics epidemiology). The project title is: Studying the prognostic and predictive role of PDL1 expression on digital pathology images using artificial intelligence in a pancancer retrospective patient cohort undergoing immunotherapy.
The project is extensive and requires assembling a retrospective research cohort of SUNY Upstate patients (n900 diagnosed with advanced/metastatic lung and other cancers and who were candidates for immunotherapy.The students should be enrolled in a graduate Medical Health Sciences or Public Health program. They will perform a rigorous chart review and extract clinical and pathological information from the electronic medical record (EMR) system: EPIC and CoPath. Students will have two mentors: Dr Jamaspishvili principal investigator (Department of Pathology) and Dr Alina Basnet coinvestigator (Department of HematologyOncology) and will have the opportunity for exposure to cuttingedge translational and clinical research.
Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University and approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate.
$17/hour
This Federal Work Study position is available to current Upstate Medical University students who have been approved for and accepted Federal Work Study through the Financial Aid Office.
