Job Description
McMurry University is currently seeking a head womens basketball coach who will be responsible for the overall operation and conduct of the program. This individual will provide instruction and guidance to scholarathletes to improve individual and team performance. Additionally the head coach will recruit scholarathletes that will represent the University in a manner that will reflect favorably upon the university and athletics department.
Required Qualifications
Required Education/Experience: Bachelors degree or equivalent required. Two to three years experience in coaching at the college level or significant experience coaching at the high school or club level or equivalent required and/or collegiate playing experience. Ability to effectively teach and coach students in both a team and individual setting. Ability to recruit outstanding studentathletes to a strong academic environment. A commitment to providing a positive role model and leadership to the team as well as excellent communication skills are required. Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people in a manner that positively portrays the University and its programs personnel and philosophies.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education/Experience: 1. Masters degree preferred. 2. Three to five years coaching experience at the college level.
