The successful candidate will possess superior interpersonal skills have demonstrated supervisory experience and be an excellent clinician with the respect of his/her peers. The successful candidate also will be committed to fulfilling clinical and nonclinical duties as a representative of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Candidates must be Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) certified be eligible to work in Canada and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. There is a preference for candidates with formal administrative education and training.

Description:
Alberta Health Services (AHS) Edmonton Zone invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Department Facility Chief Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.40 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules reports directly to the Edmonton Zone Clinical Department Head (ZCDH) Emergency and the Facility Medical Director (FMD) RAH. The successful candidate will assist the ZCDH with quality issues as well as assisting the FMD with operational matters.
This position provides input into the development of policies and criteria for procedures as they relate to Emergency Medicine as well as reviewing and recommending privileges for physicians working within the Emergency Department. This position is accountable for but not limited to the resolution of physicianrelated and clinicaloperational matters; providing clinical leadership consultation support and coaching to the RAH Emergency Physicians medical staff and allied health staff; monitoring clinical practice and medical staff in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules; and advocating for the provision of overall quality patient safety and patient care.
The position has an expected start date of approximately May 1st 2023 and an expected term of 3 years.
