Job Description

Location: Wilmington Delaware

Company Overview: Our client is a leader in developing innovative mail processing equipment and imaging systems providing solutions for inbound outbound and custom mail applications. With numerous patents and a commitment to technological advancement they serves a diverse range of industries including presort government insurance ecommerce universities elections and more.
Position Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembly Manager to oversee the production line responsible for assembling aligning and adjusting fabricated parts within our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will develop standard manufacturing procedures to meet product specifications and production targets ensuring efficiency and quality in all assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities:
*Production Management: Plan and assign production resources and workers to maintain desired output levels.
*Quality Assurance: Monitor quality metrics to identify and address issues with materials designs or work processes ensuring all products meet high standards.
*Process Improvement: Develop and implement standard manufacturing procedures to enhance efficiency and meet production targets.
*Team Leadership: Manage and mentor assembly staff fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
*Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal utilization of materials equipment and personnel to achieve production goals.
*Reporting: Review daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues and make necessary adjustments.


Qualifications:
*Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing or a related field.
*Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment with at least 35 years in a supervisory role.
*Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
*Strong understanding of 5S housekeeping principles and their application in a manufacturing setting.
*Experience with Kanban systems for tracking production and shipment of parts and materials.
*Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing resources and workloads to achieve organizational goals.
*Excellent coordination and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
*Commitment to upholding safety policies and procedures to effectively manage hazards and risks.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Experience in mechanical and electrical equipment assembly or related fields.
*Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their implementation.
*Proven track record of implementing process improvements that lead to increased efficiency and cost savings.
