The Chicago High School for the Arts is accepting applications for a Healthcare Assistantfor the school year
Job Identification
Title: Healthcare Assistant
Department: Healthcare
Classification: Fulltime
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Provides quality first aid care to students and school community
- Maintain and update centralized health records in files and associated systems
- Maintain and update individual health schedules and records of health information
- Monitor health supplies first aid kits and related materials
- Maintain health reports and referrals
- Maintain site list of significant health conditions and children receiving medication
- Discreetly handle and meet confidentiality standards regarding childrens records and sensitive information pertaining to children and families.
- Utilizes and adheres to community state and national resources where necessary to promote the safety and welfare of students
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills Abilities and Knowledge
- Must be able to analyze information data and operate a computer and associated school systems
- Must have command of communication both written and verbal
- Ability to meet deadlines and address high priorities
- Experience in a public school setting/classroombased setting
- Experience with individuals with disabilities
- Experience with families and family education
- Work with interdisciplinary teams

Training
Participate in training where required which includes but is not limited to:
- CPR and first aid techniques
- Health and safety practice procedures and knowledge of equipment
- Filing and recordkeeping techniques
- Follows procedures as required by charter authorizer including Chicago Public Schools requirements
Education and licensing
- A certified Nurse Assistant license is required
- Associates degree preferred
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
