Under the direction of the High School Principal and overseeing members of the High School Learning Strategies Department this individual will ensure that all stakeholders have a good understanding of how best to guide students towards meeting their learning goals. The High School Learning Strategies Coordinator will provide leadership in the Learning Strategies vision of the High School and on ways to support the diverse behavioural emotional and academic needs of students. Success Factors Bachelor of Education and a BC Teachers Certification (or equivalent) Knowledge of BC inclusive education policies and guidelines Experience in an Independent School (asset) Ability to contribute to the development implementation and evaluation of an IEP in consultation with teachers parents students and community resource personnel. Understanding how to support diverse learning styles at a grade school level. Demonstrated experience as an enthusiastic innovative and caring educator with a commitment to diversity and inclusion in all its many dimensions. Demonstrated understanding and experience with the BC Curriculum and pedagogical approaches. Experience in coplanning with teachers to ensure students needs are addressed and appropriate accommodations are applied effectively.
