What Does Safety Net Services Do
Safety Net Services is a series of Behavioral Health programs that focus on addressing behavioral health needs of the most vulnerable community members. The programs include Call Center Older Adult Behavioral Health Adult Protective Services and Residential Services. Safety Net Programs work very closely with other Behavioral Health Division programs Health Department programs and other County programs. Continuing to intersectionally lead with race is a core value of Safety Net Services and to that end a monthly Safety Net Equity Workgroup has been developed.
Internship Description & Responsibilities:
This position will lead the Safety Net Services equity work primarily managing the programs implementation of a racial equity lens. This position will work closely with the Safety Net Equity Committee supporting equity projects across programs. The position will:
Inform decisionmaking
Support Safety Net Equity Committee with racial equity analysis for organizational change process improvement and issues impacting participants accessing services
Project manage the implementation of a racial equity lens
Research and implement a racial equity lens
Promotion and Professional Development
Assist with equity analytics
Implements process improvement solutions
Learning Outcomes:
Coordinate a project with you that will be mutually beneficial for you and Multnomah County.
Gain valuable experience and learn to standardize the implementation of equity into the program processes including implementing equityinformed decisionmaking and adopting a racial equity lens tool.
Learn to research review analyze and translate results into strategic DEI recommendations.
Develop and create benchmarks and progress reports.
Education and Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should have completed or enrolled in a college/university academic institution.
Promote a culture of respect inclusiveness and appreciation of diverse perspectives backgrounds and values Link to Equity and Empowerment Lens
Ability to work cooperatively and develop effective working relationships with diverse work groups.
Ability to collaborate follow directions and work independently.
Familiarity with Google Suite (e.g. Gmail Calendar Meet Drive Docs and Slides).
