Job Description

Description

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week onsite in Melville NY or Northbrook IL.



Responsibilities
  • Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results. Records and explains test results and completes test report.
  • Applies conformance criteria to data sets for the purpose of comparison.
  • Communicates project status and results as needed.
  • Holds responsibility for defining test plan report completion and accuracy meeting of agreed deadlines and managing project related activities.
  • Examines customer samples and evaluate appropriate tests for each case with support.
  • Communicates with internal/external customers to ensure proper evaluation.
  • Understands and is able to explain specific test standards and product technology for scope of responsibility.
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
  • Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for processes and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry Forensic Science Polymer Science Biochemistry Organic/Inorganic Chemistry Material Science but not limited to these disciplines only.
  • Experience with Infrared Analysis (IR) Thermogravimetry Analysis (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) preferred.
  • Experience with polymers preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with Engineering and other Laboratory Personnel to complete projects in a timely manner with high quality even when remote.
  • Highly effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
