Job Description
Classification: Hourly
Department: Tooling
Reports To: Tooling Supervisor
Position: Nights
Purpose:
Produces machined parts by programming setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
General Duties:
- Verify integrity of data through the confirmation of sign offs on process documentation.
- Maintain sanctity of the work space through the enforcement of 5s principals.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
- Setsup mills and lathes by installing tools attachments collets stops vices etc.
- Maintains specifications by observing cutting taking measurements detecting malfunctions troubleshooting processes adjusting and reprogramming software.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements (PM) troubleshooting minor maintenance issues and calling for repairs.
- Accomplishes departmental goals by taking ownership of the machining process.
- Required Education & Experience:
- Associates Degree in machining or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to perform all assigned tasks work independently and complete work on schedule.
- Follow Supervisors/Foreman direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with coworkers.
- Ability to develop and execute a detailed daily plan.
- Strong Problems solving skills and efficient management of time and resources.
- Prior experience in metals manufacturing environment.
- 35 Years past experience in machining or related field.
- Previous CNC experience (operation/programming).
- Sit/Stand/Walk 8 hrs./day
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
