1About the position:
The Offshore Structural is a member of the Subsea Civil and Marine Engineering team in the Chevron ENGINE Center and provides technical services and technology development support for offshore production facilities to both base business and capital projects. This role is responsible for defining structural requirements including environmental live and dead loads for fixed and floating offshore structures including compliant towers jackets and caissons gravitybased structures semisubmersibles F(P)SOs TLPs and spars. Broad knowledge of offshore structures codes local jurisdictional requirements and standards and types of analyses required for fixed and floating offshore platform
Key responsibilities:
Analyze evaluate and design fixed and floating offshore structures to meet requirements.
Define structural requirements including environmental live and dead loads for floating and fixed offshore structures.
Evaluate the structural integrity (reserve strength) of existing facilities Identify reinforcement requirements.
Develop Reliability Based Inspection (RBI) Plans.
Support assignments in civil/structural/ocean engineering for the design fabrication and installation of deepwater offshore facilities.
Support planning and management of contractors and/or consulting support to projects.
Required Qualifications:
MS in Structural Engineering from a deemed/recognized university.
Direct engineering experience for proposed and existing fixed and floating offshore structures for oil and gas production including concept development preFEED FEED and detailed design for construction installation and operation for a variety of projects. Expertise with integrity management of production and drilling facilities platform modifications risk mitigation.
Analytical strengths in structural dynamics finite element analysis hydrodynamics and nonlinear behavior. Awareness of naval architecture mooring systems and vessel motions. Analysis software experience with SESAM SACS USFOS ANSYS MOSES and STAAD Pro.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 15 years of oil and gas industry experience related to offshore structures.
Technical leadership to support project teams and collaborate across multidisciplinary functions to design execute and evaluate projects to minimize risk and achieve objectives.
Ability to develop and maintain accurate complete and current standards and guidelines.
Evaluate transportation and offshore installation schemes (i.e. multiple lifts and float over). Provide recommendations on transportation and installation methods.
Demonstrate the ability to develop new and maintain existing stakeholder relationships.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
