Principal ERP Financial Systems Officer
Are you a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in financial technology systems We are seeking a Principal ERP Financial Systems Officer to oversee the development implementation and maintenance of all financial technology and systems within the Department of Audit and Control. This is a seniorlevel supervisory role that requires independent judgment and leadership as the incumbent will manage a variety of financial processes such as billing accounts receivable accounts payable payroll financial planning auditing and more. The salary for this position ranges from $82500 to $102000 annually with additional benefits valued at $15000 to $20000 annually totaling a net compensation package of $97500 to $122000 per year.
As the Principal ERP Financial Systems Officer you will play a key role in enhancing departmental operations financial reporting and internal auditing processes. You will work closely with the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) and stakeholders to evaluate and implement changes to financial systems policies and processes. This role also requires the supervision of professional and clerical staff and involves significant collaboration with external fiscal service providers.
This is an onsite inperson position based in Buffalo New York.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Accountant in evaluating legislative and regulatory changes impacting fiscal processes systems and internal controls.
- Coordinate with MIS to implement necessary modifications to the ERP system to meet requirements.
- Conduct studies and make recommendations for improvements in ERP system data records permissions and controls.
- Develop and validate ERP system data entry standards to ensure data integrity.
- Provide ongoing technical support for the department and other external departments as needed.
- Develop operational performance metrics and recommend improvements based on process effectiveness.
- Liaise with external fiscal service providers and internal stakeholders for system optimization and troubleshooting.
- Assist in the evaluation and prioritization of new technologies and systems for implementation.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Accounting Finance or a related field and six years of fulltime experience in administering accounting or auditing activities in an ERP system environment OR
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field and eight years of fulltime experience in ERP system administration and process management OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a current NYS Drivers License at the time of appointment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must live in the City of Buffalo or be willing to relocate to the city within 6 months of accepting the role.
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting auditing principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in system administration and process management for ERP financial systems.
- Ability to supervise and mentor staff while analyzing and solving complex financial system problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
