The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) seeks a creative motivated and detailoriented Social Media Assistant to join the Outreach & Communications Circle (OCC). This student assistant position offers an opportunity to gain hands on experience in social media management content creation and digital outreach all while supporting mental health awareness at the University of Florida. You will collaborate directly with the Social Media Manager and other members of the OCC to help elevate the CWCs digital presence and outreach efforts.
Observe and report on current social media trends
Monitor social media platforms for conversations regarding student mental health and the Counseling and Wellness Center.
Brainstorm and suggest content ideas to support CWCs content calendar.
Assist in survey creation and migration of data from surveys into the social media planner.
Manage and catalog digital media files (photos videos graphics) on department drives and Google Drive.
Collaborate with individuals outside the OCC who opt to participate in digital outreach projects such as CWC counseling staff AWARE Ambassadors and UF students/faculty/staff.
Attend virtual and inperson outreach events to document and report on the experience. This may involve taking pictures writing reviews and distributing content for promotional purposes.
Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the OCC team via email and Microsoft Teams.
Perform other similar duties as directed by members of the OCC.
$14/hour
Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Commitment to the CWC Outreach & Communications Circle for at least one year.
Ability to work both remotely and oncampus as needed.
Access to a personal computer/laptop and a reliable internet connection.
Weekly availability to meet directly with the Social Media Manager.
Active user experience on social media Instagram specifically.Willingness to appear in photo and video content.
Familiarity with Canva for graphic design and basic video editing.
Passion for mental health and wellness.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as carrying or moving outreach materials if needed.
Positive friendly and professional attitude.
