Chassis Software Engineer

Electric Vehicle Digital Design (EVDD) is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities such as EV platforms batteries emotors inverters charging and recycling to create groundup breakthrough electric vehicles. By joining the best software engineering design and UX talent you will be a part of creating new technologies and concepts that can be applied across the Ford enterprise. We are looking for embedded software professionals to join our agile technically expert engineering team that is proudly innovative adaptable curious and organized to capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities.
Do you have an interest in vehicle dynamics and control systems Here is an opportunity to develop the latest chassis controls technologies. These Ford Chassis Controls positions involve a mix of theory computer simulation and invehicle testing. Examples of technologies we have delivered include Trailer Backup Assist Lane Keeping Aid Roll Stability Control Trail Control and many more. Upcoming projects will continue to push the envelope of Driver Assistance and Autonomous Vehicle Technologies!
We are seeking Controls Engineers and Software Engineers in our Dearborn Michigan location.
Responsibilities
What youll do...
- Develop control algorithms using MATLAB embedded controller or handcode
- Create requirements and design verification plans for vehicle motion control functions
- Perform software functional validation (MIL/SIL testing) working closely with chassis controls analytical methods test engineers to prove out functions
- Collaborate with feature and system engineers to develop the SW functions to enable new experiences for our customers
- Calibrate and test features in prototype vehicles
Qualifications
Youll have...
- BS in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
- 3 years of experience in control system or software development (C/ C handcodeand modelbased)
Even better you may have...
- MS in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science or related degree
- Embedded automotive SW development experience in a motion controls area
- Familiarity with ISO26262
- Familiarity with developing SW in an AutoSAR module (classic preferred)
- Experience developing software requirements and/or software test cases
- Experience working in a SAFE/Agile structure
- Good communications and project management skills
