Job Description
Concrete Plant Laborer
At HiWay Paving we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving storm drainage and excavation on highways and airfields.
We are currently seeking a Concrete Plant Laborer to assist with and maintain the daily operations of a highvolume concrete plant.
Current location: Columbia SC. This position requires a willingness to travel and work across multiple locations. If youre looking for a handson role in a fastpaced environment we encourage you to apply!
What Youll Do:
- Direct vehicle traffic and signal equipment operators as needed.
- Wash out dump trucks and assist with plant cleanup.
- Load unload or identify construction materials machinery and tools.
- Perform general upkeep of the plant and surrounding area by chipping and cleaning.
- Operate hand and power tools as necessary to complete tasks.
- Assist with the setup operation and breakdown of the plant as directed.
- Communicate effectively with laborers machine operators and site management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and work practices.
- Other tasks as assigned by the team.
What We Look For:
- Prior constructionsite labor experience required.
- Heavy or highway construction experience preferred.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Must be able to travel overnight up to 100 based on project needs.
- Ability to gain clearance in restricted/highsecurity zones (such as Airport AOA Military Bases etc..
- Physical capabilities include climbing lifting carrying at least 75 lbs. standing sitting walking working in confined spaces pushing pulling kneeling squatting and performing repetitive motions.
