About the Role
You may be aware that in November 2023 Nottingham City Councils Chief Finance Officer issued a report under Section 1143 of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 because in his professional opinion the council wasnt able to deliver a balanced budget which is a legal does not mean however that the council is bankrupt or insolvent.
The financial implications of the Section 114 report have been balanced against the councils statutory duties particularly in relation to safeguarding and homelessness and the funding of this permanent post has been approved by the councils Spend Control Board.
At Nottingham City council we are dedicated to providing housing solutions and support to our citizens in need. Our focus is on preventing homelessness within the city and ensuring that safe and stable housing is accessible to all. Our Housing Solutions team plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission.
We are actively seeking experienced professionals to fill the position of Housing Casework Supervisors to join our team. In this role you will work closely with the Prevention and Assessment Manager to provide leadership and support in housing advice casework.
Your primary responsibility will involve overseeing housing casework at all stages offering technical advice suggesting strategies to help prevent homelessness and ensure that the City Council fulfils its legal and safeguarding requirements to citizens in housing need or crisis.
