Monitor Tech

Description of the role:

The Monitor Tech at Mission Community Hospital plays a vital role in providing continuous observation and monitoring of patients electrocardiogram (EKG) patterns on the telemetry units. They collaborate with the nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and early detection of any abnormalities.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously observe and monitor EKG patterns of patients on telemetry units
• Recognize and document any changes or abnormalities in cardiac rhythms
• Notify the nursing staff and healthcare team promptly about any significant findings
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of monitoring equipment
• Assist with the placement and removal of cardiac monitoring leads
• Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure patient safety and quality care

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Monitor Tech training program or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
• Ability to interpret basic EKG patterns accurately
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
