Job Description

Description

The Paramedic (EMTP)s primary responsibility is to provide initial medical contact in the triage area of the Emergency Department. This includes maintaining a safe environment and providing compassionate care to patients and family members. The EMTP will collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access only at the request of the triage RN or the ED team leader. The EMTP will also be expected to provide initial medical services including basic airway management spinal stabilization and transportation to ill or injured persons if requested through a code 250 or code blue activation as outlined in the code policy under the supervision of the ED Medical Director.



Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
*Driving and criminal record subject to review.
Experience as a Paramedic preferred. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read write and speak in English.*Current Florida EMTP Licensure/Certification is required.
*Current BCLS certification is required.
*Current ACLS PHTLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
