The Capital Projects Engineer is a specialized and critical position accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker Internationals overall business performance by using process improvement practices engineering standards and corporate best practices to improve plant engineering design and construction through the implementation of Capital Projects. The projects completed by the Capital Projects Engineer will create manufacturing systems by which projects and processes are produced and the benefits of this work is sales growth and production cost savings.
Job Duties
- Collaborating with plants and engineering department on large complex strategic initiatives that create value to the business higher performing facilities healthier and more productive work environments sustainable footprints and drive lower operational costs
- Collaborating with key stakeholder groups and internal customers to lead process improvement assessments to identify CAPEX needs; developing capital plan that aligns with departmental strategic plans and business priorities; initiating and promoting the continuous optimization process to increase productivity with the focus on cost reduction in Labor Overhead and Material spending
- Assisting in the management of CAPEX budget(s) for HarbisonWalker International together with the finance and maintenance team prepares CAPEX budgets for future year(s).
- Leading status meetings for CAPEX projects with department leads and internal customers performing administrative functions around CAPEX projects
Qualifications
- B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
- Requires computer operation skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Microsoft Project CAD Oracle ERP and CMMS Software
- Strong analytical interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standards Quality Management Systems
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing and LEAN Management principles
- Knowledge of OSHA EPA and workers compensation regulations and practices
- The Capital Projects Engineer requires five plus 5 years of engineering in a manufacturing environment with CAPEX project management experience and refractory process knowledge.
