JOB SUMMARY: Delivers small group instruction in the area of math or reading and provides small group preteach/reteach.
Work Hours: Monday through Friday 5 hours per day. This is a part time non benefited position.
Pay rate: $23.50 or $29.50/hour depending on level of certification
QUALIFICATIONS: - Must hold or be eligible for a Maryland Educator Certificate with an Elementary endorsement
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Pleasant and professional manner
- Ability to work with children of varying cognitive abilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Provide oneonone tutoring for eligible students if the tutoring is schedule at time when a student would not otherwise receive instruction from a teacher.
- Will utilize a push in or pullout model for students based on individual needs.
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Guide independent study enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
- Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
- Assesses students on an ongoing basis both formally and informally; will use school based diagnostic assessments to attain student levels.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the Principal Reading Math and/or Teacher Specialist.
