Job Description

The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is seeking a qualified Security Operations Center Officer who is excited to join a high performing and dedicated team. An EWEB Security Operations Center Officer will employ security strategies and procedures aligned with service level agreements policies standards and operating procedures that promote a secure work environment. Responsibilities include protecting utility infrastructure and resources from threats using digital video management physical access control systems and intaking and dispatching security calls for service. Routine contact with the public will require employing proactive prevention and outreach strategies utilizing communityoriented service and problemsolving techniques. This is an unarmed position with an overall goal of maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problemfree. This recruitment will close on April 18th. Physical Security Officers at EWEB will also:

  • Employ problemoriented security strategies procedures and research methods to include data gathering organizing and reporting. This includes analyzing threats and envisioning potential or real time impact to utility operations with the ability to develop or implement quick responses or mitigation strategies.
  • Detect analyze and alert others of any incidents which may impact employees property reliability or resiliency of the utility. These may range from extreme weather conditions technical failures civil unrest crime terror and personnel issues.
  • Simultaneously monitor multiple streams of security information including emails phone calls alarms camera systems access control technologies; and various intelligence sources opensource media and inhouse tools to provide support to customers.
  • Immediately dispatch patrol officers to security related incidents calls for service emergency situations community concerns and complaints or to assist other agencies.
  • Provides operational support at major incidents special events and outages or other community emergency conditions. Physical Security Officers may be required to work extra hours during emergency situations.

And have the ability to:

  • Display original thinking and creativity meet challenges with resourcefulness generate suggestions for improving work and develop innovative approaches to complex problems.
  • Operate electronic access control systems; digital video management systems; and radios and other communication systems and devices.
  • Stay up to date on laws policies procedures and strategies that promote effective local state or national security operations for the protection of people data property and institutions.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting hourly wage for this position is $25.63 $30.88 commensurate with the selected candidates knowledge skills education and experience as relates to the position.

WORK LOCATION
Work is performed onsite at various EWEB locations.

WORK SCHEDULE

Fulltime 40 hours a week. Shift: Swing shift 3pm11pm) schedule may vary. Occasional unscheduled work to support emergency conditions/contingencies and responses.
