KBR is seeking a Modeling And Simulation Engineer with indepth knowledge of satellite relevancy to Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community unique missions to be part of our team supporting our customer in Chantilly VA that delivers missioncritical capabilities directly supporting intelligencegathering missions from overhead systems. We lead architectural assessments and report recommendations to senior US Government personnel guiding acquisition and of nextgeneration SIGINT systems needs for the next 1020 years. These systems deliver collected data distributed to US Government Intelligence Community and Military users.

The Modeling And Simulation Engineer serves as a technical advisor to support the Government with performing analysis on complex space systems needs for the intelligence and DoD communities. The SIGINT leadership team embraces innovation in a relentless effort to meet intelligence needs and shorten the timelines to provide actionable critical information to US Government decisionmakers. This is a position of trust advising the US Government and supporting critical missions in SIGINT COMINT FISINT and ELINT.

This is a contingent position based upon contract award

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Supports mission analysis assessments and studies for the Program Office
  • Coordinates assessments HIVE architecture impacts architecture trades and architecture performance assessments with the Enterprise Chief Architect Chief Engineer and Program Office
  • Manages development test and validation of systems assessment methodologies and tools such as STK SOAP MATLAB and potentially organically developed software
  • Analysis of space systems performance metrics timelines and models
  • Identify and document issues impacting both spacecraft and ground systems through objective analysis and processes
  • Provide pre and postalgorithm implementation and process analysis and modeling
  • Provide support to verification and validation of algorithms including tuning testing and integration planning
  • Support orbital analysis including threats assessments/impacts trades and analyses
  • Communicate technical findings to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Interface with customers directorate/office representatives and across system engineering groups to drive resolution plans and strategies for complex technical challenges
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation and reports

Minimum qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred)
  • 5 years of NRO experience
  • Detailed understanding of government satellite systems
  • Insight into SIGINT mission fundamentals and ability to perform analysis on complex space systems
  • Knowledge of satellite relevancy to Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community unique missions
  • Solid understanding of Signals Intelligence satellite systems and architectures
  • Experience in Matlab Python or similar
