Job Description
The Studio Set Builder supports the daytoday operations of the studio team department which set construction and maintenance material management and collaboration with the creative team to understand project requirements. By joining our team as Studio Set Builder youll have the opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to an array of exciting projects while working alongside a talented group of professionals dedicated to pushing creative boundaries.
Required Skills and Abilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High school diploma or equivalent education required
- Work with photography studio staff to build props and sets as needed
- Collaborate with the creative team to understand project requirements and develop set designs that align with our clients visions.
- Transform raw materials into visually captivating highquality set pieces that elevate our photography work.
- Manage material sourcing inventory and budgeting for set construction projects.
- Ensure the timely completion of set construction projects to meet project deadlines.
- Maintaining a safe clean and organized workshop environment.
- Strong carpentry skills including the ability to read blueprints use hand and power tools and construct various types of structures.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems that arise during construction.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Studio Manager Photographers and other crew members.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in construction or carpentry is a plus.
- Experience using standard hand power and wood working tools
- Selfstarter with the ability to complete tasks under limited supervision
- Assist with general building maintenance as time allows
Physical Requirements
- Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing pulling reaching lifting squatting kneeling and bending
- Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Requires fine motor hand and arm movement manual dexterity and coordination
- Requires near visual acuity
- Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
- Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
- Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes airborne particles hazardous materials and outdoor elements.
