This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Roches sustainability goals by developing guidance for selecting climatecompatible chemicals. The intern will research and analyze the carbon footprint benefits of alternative chemical sources (recycled biomass carbon capture) compared to conventional sources. This work will directly support reducing scope3 greenhouse gas emissions and increasing product circularity. The intern will collaborate with crossfunctional teams including procurement and chemical experts and will be based in Basel requiring physical presence.
You are enrolled or have completed your Bachelors or Masters studies at a university preferably in the field of Chemistry or Sustainable Chemistry and Materials or Sustainable Chemistry Management or related disciplines within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
You possess theoretical knowledge and a genuine interest in:
Life Cycle Assessment
Defossilization of chemicals
Decarbonization of energy generation and chemical manufacturing
Industrial chemistry
Basic understanding of the chemicals market.
You are selfmotivated and able to work independently. You must be able to communicate proactively and adequately with the various involved internal functions.
Moreover you have sufficient written and spoken English language skills.
