Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will assist the Behavioral Health department with making assessments and formulating suitable treatments for Sonoma County Indian Health Projects Inc. (SCIHP) patients. The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will utilize a range of methods to assess patients this includes; observation interviews and psychological tests. The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will develop together with the patient a comprehensive treatment plan that may include individual psychotherapy family therapy and wellness education. The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will also administer objective and projective psychological tests and diagnostic interviews to patients as necessary for comprehensive treatment. This provider will continuously measure the success of treatment programs and make changes where necessary. The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will be involved in an integrated system of care in development of a holistic and traumainformed care that is culturally responsive and culturally appropriate to SCIHP patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides clinically necessary services that are clientinformed to adults children and their families including: intake psychological evaluation assessment crisis intervention individualized treatment planning psychotherapy aftercare planning and rehabilitation planning that integrate best practice models in addressing the presenting clinical conditions and disorders.
  2. Select administer score and interpret psychological tests in order to obtain information on individuals intelligence learning disability achievements interests and personalities.
  3. Identify psychological emotional or behavioral issues and diagnose disorders using information obtained from interviews tests records observation and reference materials.
  4. Use a variety of treatment methods such as psychotherapy hypnosis behavior modification stress reduction therapy psychodrama Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and play therapy.
  5. The position requires expertise in the areas of crisis intervention clinical supervision treatment plan development and psychotherapeutic legal/ethical issues.
  6. Interact with clients to assist them in gaining insight defining goals and planning action to achieve effective personal social educational and vocational development and adjustment.
  7. Attend weekly group consultation/treatment planning sessions with clinical staff as part of a comprehensive treatment team contributing to a positive departmental environment.
  8. Attend interdepartmental integrated care committee meetings for chronic pain clients and provide expert recommendation and input for coordinated care and treatment.
  9. Ability to chart and bill using the NextGen billing system or MediCal billing systems.
  10. Perform documentation using standardized best practices in the field and tracks all clinical documentations in electronic health record systems paper records and other data management systems as required in an efficient secure and timely manner in accordance with agency policy and procedure. Support all evaluation and data reporting requirements.
  11. Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling or treatments and the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses modifying plans and diagnoses as necessary.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Behavioral Health Director within the scope of position.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Current valid and unrestricted PsyD licensure with the California Board of Psychology.
  2. Minimum 5 five years experience in Psychology or Healthrelated field or combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
  3. Strong background in traumainformed care and treating cooccurring disorders (mental health and alcohol/substance abuse disorders) that integrates wellness and recovery principles and practices is preferred.
  4. Training and experience in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and pain management techniques is a plus.
  5. Experience in child and adolescent psychology and counseling is a plus.
  6. Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  7. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word Excel and Power Point.
  8. CPR CPRCardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of theory and treatment practices of intrapsychic interpersonal and social problems; community mental health; alcohol and other drug abuse interventions; traumabased treatment (i.e. EMDR); and community agencies and resources that assist with physical and emotional wellness.
  2. Understanding of California mandated reporting laws.
  3. Possess knowledge and skills in performing a range of psychologist tests to identify psychological emotional or behavioral issues and diagnose disorders using information obtained from interviews tests records and reference materials.
  4. Maintain current knowledge of relevant research.
  5. Possess excellent communication skills reporting skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  6. Demonstrate selfawareness objectivity a strong desire to help others and thorough knowledge of psychology and treatment options available to patients.
  7. Ability to collaborate with other medical professionals as needed for holistic and integrated patient care.
  8. Ability to prepare accurate and timely documentation reports and other written material as assigned using computer and computer software assigned.
  9. Ability to understand and adhere to internal and external laws rules and policies.
  10. Ability to secure the cooperation of and work effectively with others and follow the SCIHP code of conduct.
  11. Ability to work independently and to conform to all applicable safety and accountability measures.
  12. Will need to work independently and meet deadlines while also being an effective team member and collaborating with the agencywide management team.
