Rate of Pay:$71000 $72800 per year

Function
The Assistant Director oversees the daily operations of The Tamarac (the city of Denvers largest family temporary housing program). The program provides temporary housing for up to 205 families at any given time. The Assistant Directors primary role is to support the Family Housing Director in managing the temporary housing site and to work in conjunction with team management to hire staff cultivate a positive and communicative team environment that leads to positive housing outcomes. Implementing all training policy and procedures is critical. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills motivational skills time management skills and can have difficult conversations while working in a complex environment with a diverse population.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise staff manage HRrelated issues and ensure efficient scheduling and payroll oversight.
- Develop and enforce policies procedures and program standards.
- Facilitate ongoing staff training professional development and team collaboration.
- Promote staff wellness initiatives to support retention and overall workplace morale.
- Monitor budgets fiscal policies and site utilization to align with organizational goals.
- Mediate client complaints resolve incidents and support service coordination.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations to enhance service access.
- Facilitate regular meetings with community partners and lead advocacy efforts.
- Ensure coordinated shelter access and intake through the Connection Center.
- Organize and provide space for training and services.
- Represent the organization at relevant trainings events and conferences.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Support and collaborate with volunteers interns and external agencies.
- Assume Director duties in their absence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Experience Skills Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in human services social work or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Two years of direct supervisory experience with diverse populations required.
- Two years of experience working with vulnerable populations required.
- Experience in the community resources linkages in the Denver Metro Area with housing displacement preferred.
- Must be minimally 21 years of age and possessing a valid instate Drivers License

- Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Armys policies.
