Job Description:

Louisiana State University invites applications for the position of Case Manager for Student Advocacy & Accountability (SAA). Reporting to the Assistant Director of SAA this position assists in the support for fraternities and sororities student organizations and sport clubs as well as the administration of the Code of Student Conduct. The Case Manager is responsible for prompt impartial thorough and equitable investigations of allegations of the Code of Student Conduct and other University policies regarding fraternities and sororities student organizations sport clubs and students.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

  • Facilitate the formal and informal resolution process for fraternity and sorority student organization and sport club conduct cases.
  • Conduct prompt impartial thorough and equitable investigations of allegations of the Code and other University policies.
  • Supports student organizations fraternities sororities and sport clubs through resource development trainings and other education efforts.
  • Serves as a member of the Student Organization Accountability Team.

Advance the Support for Student Organizations

With relationship building at the forefront there is an opportunity to create more proactive interactions between Student Advocacy & Accountability and student organizations outside of the conduct process. The Case Manager will provide support for fraternities and sororities student organizations and sports clubs by creating and developing resources presentations modules and trainings to assist these organizations with conduct and harm reduction efforts to support judicial/standards boards education on relevant university policies and other harm reduction efforts.

Optimize Communication Flow with External Partners

Strong working relationships with fraternity and sorority headquarters are critical to the success of the universitys partnership process. The Case Manager will assess and optimize communication channels and strategies with external partners to ensure effective and efficient collaboration timely problemsolving and mutual understanding of goals and expectations.

ABOUT THE DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS PRIORITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Student Support 70: Conducts prompt impartial thorough and equitable investigations of allegations and adjudication of the Code of Student Conduct and other University Policies regarding students and student organizations. Supports fraternity and sorority student organization and sport clubs by creating and developing resources presentations modules and trainings to assist student organizations with conduct and harm reduction efforts.

Program Support 20: Responsible for daytoday operations for Student Advocacy & Accountability through administrative management of Maxient caseload. Responsible for ongoing tracking of fraternity and sorority and student organization outcome completion. Work on special projects that may include policy development and review assessment efforts coordinating communication with campus and community constituents and reviewing documents utilized with external/internal partners.

Quality Control 5: Ensures every aspect of administrative tasks implementation and overall design exudes a high degree of quality. Embraces and executes the marginal gains approach and seeks to improve level of all services events programs and experiences in department for continuous improvement every academic year.

Other Duties as Assigned 5: Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean and/or Assistant Director of SAA. This includes but is not limited to: efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including at least 40 hours per year spent helping divisional initiatives such as MoveIn Day Welcome Week Family Weekend Career Expo Disability Services Finals Testing other special projects etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelors Degree and at least one year of related professional experience working with student conduct fraternities and sororities student organizations sport clubs or closely related experience.

OR

  • Masters Degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree from an accredited institution of higher education and at least two years of experience working with student conduct fraternities and sororities student organizations sport clubs or closely related experience.
  • Knowledge of legal issues related to higher education and student due process rights.
  • Experience in curriculum/training development and implementation.
  • Experience with Maxient or other case management tracking tools.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/EXPECTATIONS:

As with all LSU employees due to this position title and/or responsibilities this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional behavioral or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
