Job Description

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner I to join our LongTerm Residential program. These are fulltime positions that is responsible for providing a supportive environment for our clients.


Schedule: We are urgently hiring for Day and Evening positions.


Location(s): Blaine Burnsville Brooklyn Park and Little Canada


Hiring Range: $22 $23.76/Hourly based on qualifications **Hiring bonus $1000 external candidates

Main Job Duties:

  • Document interactions with clients into organizations Electronic Health Record (EHR) and if applicable programspecific documentation/recordkeeping system while providing clear and concise communication with client staff and other applicable parties.
  • Effectively interact and exhibit behavior that is consistent with customer service and professional standards established by the organizational division and program.
  • Responsible for medication administration in accordance with organization and program policies and procedures.
  • Using personcentered principles actively engage with clients in their daily activities and develop and maintain appropriate relationships that support the client in meeting their individual goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and deescalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms or other emotional responses while prioritizing client and program safety.
  • Independent Living Skills teaching and/or coaching as it relates to the individuals goal and/or treatment plans.
Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Masters degree in a behavioral science or related field; OR
  • Bachelors degree in a behavioral science or related field and proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; OR
  • Has completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral science or a related field and:
  • Has proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; OR
  • Has 2000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness; OR
  • Has 2000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness mental health deescalation techniques cooccurring mental illness and substance abuse and psychotropic medications and side effects; OR
  • Is fluent in the nonEnglish language of the cultural group to which 50 of the practitioners clients belong; OR
  • Has a high school diploma and 4000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with:
  • Mental illness; OR
  • Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness mental health deescalation techniques cooccurring mental illness and substance abuse and psychotropic medications and side effects; OR
  • Has a high school diploma and 2000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with:
  • Mental illness emotional disturbance or substance use disorder and receives clinical supervision from a mental health professional once a week until 4000 hours of experience is met; OR
  • Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness mental health deescalation techniques cooccurring mental illness and substance abuse and psychotropic medications and side effects and receives clinical supervision from a mental health professional once a week until 4000 hours of supervised experience is met; OR
  • Is currently enrolled in a graduate level behavioral sciences program at an accredited college or university and is formally assigned to the program for clinical training;
  • Must be free of chemical use problems for at least two years immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact if applicable.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Masters degree in a behavioral science or related field
  • Bachelors degree in a behavioral science or related field and proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields
  • 2000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness
