Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team for a major commercial construction project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical installations troubleshooting and maintenance within civil construction environments. The Journeyman Electrician will play a critical role in ensuring the electrical systems onsite meet safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installations: Perform electrical installations including wiring conduit work switchgear and lighting in compliance with local and national electrical codes.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical issues to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely.
- Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks on electrical systems ensuring all components are functioning correctly and replacing or repairing faulty parts as necessary.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local state and national electrical codes as well as company safety protocols and procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed including installation maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other trades including civil engineers project managers and construction workers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project.
- Safety: Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Training: Provide guidance and training to apprentice electricians as needed.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician License in the state of New Mexico is preferred but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician with specific experience in civil construction projects preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems blueprints and schematics with the ability to interpret and apply them in the field.
- Skills: Proficient in using electrical tools and equipment with a strong attention to detail and problemsolving abilities.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects standing for extended periods and working in various weather conditions.
