About Redwood Materials
Mechanical Engineer Power Electronics New Product
Essential Duties:
You will be an early member of a product design team responsible for the detailed mechanical design of a cost effective highly manufacturable and technologically leadingedge power converter. Collaborating closely with your electrical colleagues you will design the core thermal interfaces electrical insulators cooling systems magnetics assemblies and overall product assembly concept for the core powerconversion circuitry.
Responsibilities include:
You are familiar with the unique constraints that high voltage highpower assemblies place on their mechanical components and understand the fundamentals of electrical insulation (not just the insulation standards). You can clearly articulate the different failure mechanisms that drive creepage and clearance. Youll be designing electrically insulating but thermally conductive heat transfer systems and figuring out how to make them affordable and robust to thermal and electrical cycling. Simple robust and manufacturable designs make you smile and you understand the physics of inductance and capacitance well enough to partner with your electricalengineering colleagues to make a great product.
The ideal candidate is highly selfdriven adaptable to a startup environment and eager to take on technical challenges. Youre a doer excited about working in a dynamic fastpaced setting and want to shape the electrical engineering function within a new department at Redwood.
