Our client is seeking for a highly skilled and experienced Regional Planning Manager to lead our organizations urban and regional planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning and development of towns cities counties and metropolitan areas ensuring sustainable growth and community wellbeing. Key Responsibilities:
Directing and coordinating the development of comprehensive plans and programs for the use of land and physical facilities in towns cities counties and metropolitan areas.
Collaborating with senior planners to assess the environmental economic and health issues of an area as it grows and changes.
Conducting research and analysis to support planning initiatives such as transportation community resource access and land use.
Assisting in the preparation of reports presentations and other materials to communicate planning proposals and recommendations.
Overseeing the administration of government plans or policies affecting land use zoning public utilities community facilities housing or transportation.
Coordinating with local state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Managing and mentoring a team of urban and regional planners fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Developing and implementing strategies to promote coordinated regional planning and collaboration among stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in urban planning geography environmental science or a related field.
Masters degree in urban planning community development or a related field preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in urban and regional planning with at least five years in a responsible (supervisory or team lead) position.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in geographic information system (GIS) software is a plus.
