Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION : Develop and deliver instructional lectures and laboratories for American Sign Language courses up to 6 10 hours/week; Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning; Teach day evening and/or weekend teaching assignments which may include distance learning (interactive television online) and accelerated courses; Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester; Participate in department division and collegewide initiatives and committees if desired.
Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS : The successful candidate must possess the minimum qualifications stated below: The successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria: 1. Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university AND two years of experience teaching Deaf Studies; OR 2. Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND six years of experience teaching Deaf Studies; OR 3. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1 1990; OR 4. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above.
