About the Unit
A Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Medicaid unit that has residents with multiple clinical issues including CHF dehydration cellulites diabetes DVT and stable cardiac related issues needing monitoring. Nurses work closely with a variety of health care professionals including: doctors social work dieticians PT/OT hospice and spiritual support. A Wing offers a wellrounded opportunity for learning professional growth and personal satisfaction.
B Wing is a 40 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. B wing is a great unit for nursing students to develop their organizational skills and gain some experience in dealing with challenging behaviors. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the residents plan of care.
C Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Rehabilitation and Skilled unit and is a great place to learn basic medsurg I.V. therapy & wound treatments nursing skills. Nurses on this unit along with host of healthcare professionals work to provide and implement the best treatment plan for residents. This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals.
About the facility
With 2 floors 4 units we are able to provide care for long term care residents and postacute rehab patients. The first floor has 96 beds and the second floor has 100 beds. Nursepatient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents long term care and a rehab residents. With 196 beds we accept but not limited to patient specialties such as general rehab neuro rehab cardiac respiratory and cancer. We also have various programs for residents to participate in
multiple activities.
Scope of work
Using tools of consulting mentoring coaching and interprofessional collaboration the nurse educator facilitates the professional role development and growth of nurses and other healthcare personnel along the continuum from novice to expert.
Functions in the roles of change agent mentor facilitator of learning leader champion of scientific inquiry (application of research evidence based practice and improvement science) and partner for clinical practice transitions.
Nurse educators are REQUIRED to obtain their nursing administration or professional/specialty certification within 12 months of assuming the role or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.
