ICP Group is looking to hire a Production Manager. Under the direction of the Plant Manager you will support both Carroll Ave & Buchanan St. plant operations by coordinating material movements through the facility from raw material to finished goods for our Choice manufacturing plant in burg VA. At ICP Choice Adhesives we manufacture solventbased waterbased canister/aerosol and hot melt adhesives for a wide variety of specialty applications.
In this role you will be responsible for the following with oversight of both Carroll Ave & Buchanan St plants:
Support Safety and Health guidelines and facilitate a culture of safety that is evident in both visual observations and documented processes and procedures.
Ensure the production area meets all required regulatory SafetyOSHAand Environmental(EPA Federal State and Local) requirements and key staff are knowledgeable of those requirements through routine training.
Train and coach production staff on safe and proper of their responsibilities.
Monitor quality of all production ensuring quality tests are performed standards are met and noncompliant material is addressed immediately.
Assist in the scheduling of the plant and staff workloadwhile maximizing plant efficiency.
Help train operators to support Autonomous Maintenance of the production areas to eliminate downtime and yield loss.
Coordinate with Customer Service/Sales and Purchasing to maintain effective levels of raw material and finished goods inventories with a high level of accuracy per item count.
Provide input to the Plant Manager for the development of annual facility and operational capital project plans by providing ideas data and resources.
Help Plant Manager establish performance goals and targets with subsequent followup and coaching sessions aimed at improving employees skillset.
Ensure production areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion by building a culture that understands and supports those activities.
Monitor KPIs daily to maintain expected levels of performance.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and train staff.
Provide monthly updates to management outlining plant objectives and accomplishments.
Coordinate with the corporate lab to perform plant trials as a function of product development.
Establishcost savings targets and communicateprogress.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering preferred
57 years of experience in manufacturing or production in the specialty chemical/adhesives industry with at least 12 years in a supervisory or leadership role directing a high performance manufacturing team with measurable results and improvements.
2 years experience in the scheduling of the plant and staff workloadwhile maximizing plant efficiency.
Strong understanding of production processes quality control standards and manufacturing safety protocols.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management coaching and conflict resolution.
Must demonstrate strong verbal written and analytical skills as well as have the ability to interact effectively with plant managers team leaders and team members.
Proficiency in production management software (e.g. ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word etc..
Willingness to work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise machinery and varying temperatures.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs if necessary.
