Electric Vehicle Digital Design (EVDD) is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities such as EV platforms batteries emotors inverters charging and recycling to create groundup breakthrough electric vehicles. These Ford Chassis Controls positions involve a mix of theory computer simulation and invehicle testing. Examples of technologies we have delivered include Trailer Backup Assist Lane Keeping Aid Roll Stability Control Trail Control and many more. Upcoming projects will continue to push the envelope of Driver Assistance and Autonomous Vehicle Technologies!

We are seeking Controls System Engineers and Software System Engineers in our Dearborn Michigan location.

What youll do...

• Collaborate with controls and software engineers to develop the SW functions to enable new experiences for our customers
• Develop specifications and design verification plans for vehicle control systems and features
• Perform systems engineering on Chassis Controls Features and Function including Failure Mode Avoidance (DFMEA) and Functional Safety
• Work closely with Ford engineers and Tier1 suppliers to develop feature interface requirements
• Perform software functional validation (MIL/SIL/HIL testing) working closely with chassis controls analytical methods test engineers to prove out functions
• Develop control algorithms using Handcode MATLAB and Simulink Models
• Calibrate and test features in prototype vehicles

Youll have...

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or related degree or foreign equivalency degree or a combination of equivalent experience and education
• 2 years of experience in control systems or software development experience

Even better you may have...

• Masters Degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5 years of controls system and state machine development experience
• Experience developing software requirements and/or software test cases including EARS and INCOSE compliance
• Familiarity with ISO26262
• Experience working in a SAFE/Agile structure
• Good communications and project management skills
• Experience with system engineering in Magic Draw
• Demonstrated experience in Matlab/Simulink Experience applying Systems Engineering
• Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
• Experience developing and executing test plans
• Experience applying engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance
• Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
• Familiarity with Vector CANAPE and TargetLink
• Demonstrated proficiency with CAN communication and databases
• Strong leadership skills passion for quality passion to improve customer satisfaction
• Good collaboration skills
