Job Title: SIC Overhead Crane Repair Tech (GE WILM)
Job Summary: Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Overhead Crane Repair Tech/Inspector for an ongoing site in the Wilmington NC area the site has access to customer cafeteria and food services and is in a controlled environment. This role is for an ongoing assignment. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3months.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment for crane models: Coffing AccuWright and Demag
- Service overhead crane systems by performing quality installations performing OSHA/ANSI equivalent inspections documenting troubleshooting breakdowns and responding to repair calls.
- Replacing ballast and lamps.
- Be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to operate various mobile equipment such as forklift scissor lifts man lifts cranes etc.
- Troubleshoot variable frequency drive and remotecontrol systems.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed.
- Observes SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
- Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Analyze and resolve work problems.
- Must have the ability to balance multiple tasks/priorities.
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
- As required perform safety inspections of work area equipment and tools in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations customer requirements and SICs safety program.
- Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
- Observes SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
- Maintain a safe clean and organized working environment.
Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:
- Conditions include working in office shop busy traffic areas freezers and warehouses with frequent exposure to dirt dust grease oil vibrations and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees alarms and other jobrelated noises
- Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
- Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
- Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position
- Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time bending consistently working on ladders and in awkward body positions
- Safety/Steel toe shoes are required
