Job Description
We are looking for an experienced High School Math Teacher to join our Sullivan campus (grades 1012. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and committed educator who will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life including extracurricular responsibilities.
The current faculty grid annual salary range for this position is $54580$93075 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver the core math program requirements and beyond following the BC Ministry of Education curriculum and/or Advanced Placement
- Provide differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all students within a rigorous engaging and collaborative learning environment
- Collaborate with other members of faculty to design innovative lessons units and a variety of types of assessments
- Assess and report out on student academic progress and work habits noting achievement and areas of growth with respect to the core and curricular competencies
- Develop skills including critical thinking skills and strategies required to conduct research and inquiry and communicate findings accurately and effectively
- Apply the knowledge skills and attitudes acquired through the study of math to a variety of learning tasks and relate them to realworld phenomena
- Work with students outside of classroom hours for tutorial support
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Education with undergraduate studies in Math
- Experience teaching the BC Ministry Math curriculum at the secondary level
- BC Teaching Certification
- Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred qualifications and experiences
- Experience teaching PreCalculus 11/12 and Calculus 12 or a comparable course
- Proven experience in competencybased learning and assessment practices
- Committed to continue learning and improving teaching practice
- Passionate about inspiring students to engage with authentic realworld problems
- Driven to take risks in the development of new pedagogical and assessment practices
- Experience teaching in a technologyrich environment is an asset

RCA is a BC Ministrycertified Independent Christian school located in Surrey BC 30 km south of Vancouver). RCA has been in operation since 1978 and is wellestablished in the community. RCA shares a beautiful 39acre campus with Pacific Life Bible College and Horizon Church. RCA currently enrolls over 600 students on its main Sullivan campus and another 125 students at its new Cloverdale campus. In addition to the standard k12 program RCA serves over 60 International students.
