Our fastgrowing Franklin Fixed Income business is seeking a buyside Junior Portfolio Analyst to join a highperforming team focused on delivering bestinclass solutions to clients. The role offers the right candidate an opportunity to work with a dynamic team across multiple fixed income related markets including global rates foreign exchange and credit markets. This position will be in Melbourne Australia.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position

  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers daytoday providing operational and analytical support to implement and monitor underlying investment strategies across portfolios.

  • Conduct research & analysis of various investments including ESG related considerations.

  • Interact with the sellside / trading counterparts to identify opportunities for portfolios

  • Provide advanced analytical support for the ongoing development and implementation of the investment process

  • Partner and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver on tasks and projects such as preparing data and material for client communications.

What qualifications skills and experience would help someone to be successful

  • Bachelors degree CFA candidate/equivalent preferred

  • The role would suit a recent graduate (up to 3 years experience)

  • Any exposure to securitised / asset backed markets viewed favourably

  • Keen interest in financial markets

  • Intellectual persistence to tackle hard problems and develop insights from multiple angles

  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment

  • Coding ability R or Python an advantage
