Radiology Tech - X-Ray Sign on and Relocation Avail

The Diagnostic/Xray Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures using stationary and mobile radiographic equipment according to established standards. This position provides basic patient care processes films maintains equipment transports patients and prepares and maintains documentation.

Diagnostic/Xray Technologist 1 works in the following environments predominately: outpatient pain/palliative care childrens health orthopedics portable and inpatient and may work in less than three of the following: fluro oarm trauma operating room and dexascan.

Diagnostic/Xray Technologist 2 works in three or more of the following environments predominately: fluro oarm trauma operating room and dexascan; and may work also in outpatient pain/palliative care childrens health orthopedics portable and inpatient.

This positions work location is onsite only.

Patient Care
* Obtains patient history.

* Educates patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention.

* Positions patients appropriately for the applicable radiographic procedure.

* Performs radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines.

* Develops and evaluates radiographic results for technical quality such as density contrast definition and distortion

* Applies learned methodologies with independent judgment according to established policies and procedures.

* Performs prescribed procedures in accordance with established policies.

* Maintains infection prevention standards

* Explains standard procedures and answers patients questions.

* Prepares cleans adjusts inspects and maintains equipment.

* Produces quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation Prepares and maintains accurate documentation archiving imaging data as needed or required.

* Collaborates with physicians and other medical professionals.

Modality Specific
* Performs radiographic procedures using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment.

* Responsible for appropriate set up of the xray room and manipulation of equipment and proper placement of patient for procedure.

* Ensure proper image capture of skeletal structure requested for diagnosis and treatment purposes.

* Process and develops exposed xray film and creates xray CD copies for review and interpretation.

Quality
* Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

* Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements demonstrating ability to troubleshoot and notifying appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.

* Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department and monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure noninterruption of service.

Associates of Applied Science or other Related Fields Required

Certificates and Licensure

MRTBE ARRT Required upon date of hire or within six months of date of hire

BLS (American Heart Assoc. Required

Fingerprint Clearance Card application number Required upon hire fingerprint clearance card required within 90 days from date of hire.

Employee will obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for the roles assigned by their departmental leader.

Experience

One year experience in Diagnostic Radiology Preferred
