Job Description

This position serves as a professional resource in the career development process for external and campus community while creating procedures processes goals plans and programming for services that support career development experiential learning and employment.

The Career Coordinator addresses and responds to the needs of students enrolled in assigned school areas at Minneapolis College. This position coordinates the College and Career Day events while addressing best practices in career development to ensure continuous improvement of activities services and trainings to meet the needs of all stakeholders. The Career Coordinator will build establish and maintain relationships with employers to provide oncampus recruitment opportunities for any career orientated programming. This position provides leadership support for training and mentoring graduate interns while working closely with the Career Services department in advancing short and longterm goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create coordinate and implement career development programming to effectively retain students and decrease the number of undecided students
  • Create coordinate and implement a career readiness and experiential learning programming for current students
  • Develop and coordinate campuswide career readiness and / or employment preparation programming events and services that leads to achieving the colleges strategic goals.
  • Provide direction guidance and direct support to aid in providing individual growth and leadership for graduate interns AmeriCorps member and volunteers
  • Collaborate with the Director in employer sponsorships programming and evaluating the performance of the Career Services department

Salary Range:

$23.63 $34.18 hourly / $49339 $71368 annually

Minimum Qualifications

  • A combination of education and experience necessary to perform the functions of the position
  • Evidence of building strong relationships by seeking out establishing and nurturing new industry partnerships
  • Knowledge of conveying career development and labor market information in individual and group settings
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Possesses ability to organize time and diverse tasks to conduct meeting to follow up on tasks and projects
  • Strong problem solving skills sufficient to identify and clarify problems or issues to prepare and execute possible solutions under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency incorporates culturally responsive practices and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities
