Job Description
- Operates Chip Spinner
- Loads chips from the screw machine into the chip spinner
- Operates the spinner to remove oil and recycle
- Repeats the process throughout the day alternating between the chip spinner and the screw machines
- Loads Bars into Screw Machine
- Loads pipe into the screw machine to manufacture screw of varying sizes and shapes
- Operates the Screw Machine
- Manipulates lever to adjust the pipe and pushes button to run the machine once bars / pipe is loaded
- Observes machine operations for any problems and shuts down to repair/remove jam etc.
- Maintains machines maintenance requirements continuous inspection of parts Chip Spinning for reuse of oils is to be maintained by operator
- Inspection of finished product done by Inspection Department before leaving Screw Machine Department
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Any knowledge of operating Brown & Sharpes / Davenports and maintaining quality of machining and set ups
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills
- Basic knowledge of tools including micrometers and calipers
- Ability to read blueprints
