The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join an agile development team focused on technology solutions for the deployment of software and secure systems in support of Defence operations.
As a Mission Planning Systems (MPS) Systems Engineer you will provide expert systems engineering guidance and advice to support KBRs Defence and Technology Solutions Line of Business.
Working under the direction of the Principal Engineer this role will involve supporting the delivery of Defence projects in line with established policies procedures and systems. You will play a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of secure compliant and accredited software applications and IT systems.
The key responsibilities of the role will include but is not limited to:
Network and software systems analysis and design including the development of artefacts to support technical certification.
Identifying and managing program technical risks and issues within the support to operations scope.
Updating reviewing and verifying documentation produced in support of project development and sustainment.
The duties will leverage on systems engineering skills and provide the MPS Project Manager and KBR customers with advice related to system design implementation testing and acceptance.
Accepting responsibility and accountability for assigned project(s) including performance accountability.
Acting with a degree of autonomy for team and system tasking outcomes.
Fostering a positive work environment that is professional dynamic and innovative.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
Current AGSVA security clearance NV1 or higher
Engineering Degree suitable to achieve membership of Engineers Australia in relevant Communications Computing or Electronics related field.
A minimum of 35 years experience in an Information Technology or Engineering discipline.
Experience and proven expertise in the areas of military Command Control Communications and Computers (C4I).
Experience as a System Engineer in the development of software and hardware systems.
Experience working within a Systems Engineering Lifecycle as well as authoring & reviewing technical documentation.
Experience working with aviation related software standards and Australian Defence regulatory frameworks.
Experience working with project teams in the delivery of complex ICT systems.
Strong client and staff engagement relationship and communications skills.
Welldeveloped interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
Experience with Defence ICT environments (including Defence Protected Environment (DPE) and Defence Secret Environment (DSE).
Demonstrable knowledge of Aviation Mission Planning and of the Defence Air Component Command and Control Capability System (ACC2CS) environment.
Project scheduling experience.
