Job Description

Kyowa Kirin is a fastgrowing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies stateoftheart biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four disease areas: bone and mineral; intractable hematologic; hematology oncology; and rare disease. The Financial Analyst III will support a newly established greenfield site within a biopharmaceutical organization. This position is pivotal in driving robust financial analysis budgeting forecasting and strategic decisionmaking for the sites startup and ongoing operations. Working closely with the Director of Finance the Financial Analyst III will leverage their expertise to optimize capital allocation operational efficiency and overall financial performance in a highly regulated rapidly evolving environment.

Director Manufacturing Plant Controller

Technical Skills Knowledge and Experience

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting

o Develop analyze and present monthly quarterly and annual financial reports specific to the greenfield sites setup and rampup phases.

o Conduct variance analysis identify trends and provide actionable insights that can influence cost efficiency and revenue generation.

o Assist in preparing financial dashboards and presentations for senior leadership highlighting sitespecific milestones and performance metrics.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting

o Coordinate the development of annual site budgets to ensure accurate projections of startup expenses capital investments and operational costs.

o Update rolling forecasts to reflect changes in project timelines regulatory requirements or market conditions ensuring timely and accurate projections for the greenfield site.

o Provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts flagging potential financial risks or opportunities and recommending corrective actions.

o Upload changes and future budgets in our internal financial system (Tagetik)

  • Regulatory Compliance & Internal Controls

o Assist in ensuring compliance with GAAP IFRS (if applicable) and other relevant accounting standards with particular attention to industryspecific regulations (FDA EMA etc..

o Support internal and external audit processes by compiling and reviewing financial documentation related to the greenfield site.

o Monitor and reinforce internal control frameworks particularly for new systems or processes implemented at the site.

  • Process Improvement

o Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve the speed and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis particularly in a startup environment where systems and processes are still being established.

o Advocate for best practices in financial planning and analysis leveraging automation and digital tools where possible.

  • Stakeholder Partnership

o Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (locally and in our Corp offices) ensuring alignment with their business needs and priorities.

o Prepare and present accurate financial analysis reports tailored to project and organizational requirements offering actionable insights and consultation that support informed decisionmaking.

  • Prepare and deliver adhoc reports as required ensuring accuracy relevance and alignment with the specific needs of the request.

Individual contributor with the opportunity to potentially lead or coordinate task teams.

Education

  • Associates degree preferably Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or a related field.
  • MBA in Finance Preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive financial analysis experience ideally in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated success working on capitalintensive projects such as greenfield or largescale expansions.
  • Familiarity with industryspecific considerations (R&D costing regulatory approvals manufacturing scaleup) is a plus.
  • Experience working in small to mediumsized organizations is a plus.
  • Experience in starting up and operating a biopharma manufacturing facility is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools (e.g. Excel Power BI Word DataRails).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (i.e. MS Dynamics) financial reporting software and internal budgeting software (Tagetik).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.

Physical demands: Work is 100 onsite in Sanford NC. This is not a hybrid or remote role

Working Conditions: Requires up to 10 domestic and limited international travel
