Description
As University of Montanas exclusive food service provider UM Campus Dining invites you to apply for a variety of open parttime positions in our 21 locations. We have many unique employment opportunities to choose from including positions in coffee shops convenience stores dining centers and more. We will work with you to find a position that suits your experience interests and availability.UM Campus Dining temporary employees filling entry level positions are not required to have specific work experience skills or abilities.

Pay rate depends on the position duration and adherence to the MUS Staff Compensation Plan.

Depending on experience temporary employees fill positions that involve:
- Guest service and cashiering
- Food preparation
- Concession services
- Catering service
- Baking
- General culinary help
- Cooking and cooks assistant
- Cleaning and ware washing
- Receiving and storage maintenance
- Inventory management
- Maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
- May supervise student employees or classified employees
Minimum Qualifications
Certain positions may require specific skills or work experience.
- Ability to provide guest service to students staff faculty and guests of the university
- Ability to learn foodservice positions
- Ability to work closely with others and interact with a highly diverse population
- Ability to work with college students as coworkers and guests
- Ability to continue functioning and maintain composure in a fastpaced atmosphere
- Ability to pass food safety training class provided by employer
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with or ability to learn computer skills such as accurate data entry Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel and food management systems like CBORD
- For cashiers servers and concessions positions ability to learn and use pointofsale systems efficiently
- Ability to learn and adhere to UM Dining cashhandling policies for the unit assigned
- Ability to apply basic mathematical functions in situations such as counting back change reconciling invoices or converting recipes
Ideal Candidate Skills Knowledge & Abilities
The ideal temporary employee will possess knowledge skills or abilities that may include:
- Knowledge and experience working in a fastpaced foodservice operation.
- Degree from a culinary institute or work experience cooking in a fullservice restaurant.
- Professional cooking experience in a fastcasual restaurant deli or grill.
- Server experience at a fullservice restaurant.
- Concessions experience including setup service cashiering and cleanup for large events such as concerts and football games.
- Professional catering service setup and cleanup experience.
- Experience in a professional office setting including use of multiline phones copiers and other office equipment.
- Experience as a cashier using a pointofsale system.
- Professional warewashing experience.
- Professional baking experience.
- Barista experience.
- Experience performing and entering inventory counts in a retail or foodservice operation.
- Experience supervising employees.
- Experience with foodservice equipment.
Physical Demands.
The UM Campus Dining temporary employee must be able to:
- Move effectively through the foodservice operations.
- Ability to lift heavy objects from the floor to counter height 40lbs. which requires mobility and physical demands.
- Work standing up for long periods as needed in the operations.
- Occasionally work long hours long weeks or evenings and weekends.
- Taste and experience food and menu items to assess and assure high quality.
