Treatment Manager

It is the mission of Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) to provide Inuitspecific programs that contribute to the health and wellbeing of Inuit and to encourage and support similar programs for Inuit across the country. With over 30 years of highly successful experience in crafting the design development and delivery of a wide range of effective clientcentered services TI continues to deliver quality programs and services that directly benefit our growing urban Inuit population.

The Treatment Manager directs the daytoday clinical operations of the Mamisarvik Healing Centre program (MHC) including supervision and scheduling of staff involved in direct and indirect clinical services to clients.

Responsibilities:
Program Administration
Oversee maintenance of confidential client files proper client case notes in client case management system and ensure compliance with privacy legislation
Oversee the implementation of client intake assessments programming counselling and aftercare services as developed and delivered by clinical staff.
Work and collaborate with clinical team to ensure the development and delivery of holistic and culturally sensitive trauma informed care services.
Promote support and maintain effective working relations with the Inuit community of Ontario.
Ensure compliance with all mandated health and safety legal and regulatory requirements related to working at Tungasuvvingat Inuit and in a trauma and addictions treatment program
Ensure all documents such as but not limited to incident reports serious occurrence reports are documented and forwarded to funders as may be required
Coordinate any OntheLand component and involvement of Elders in programming
Participate in program evaluations consultation with staff and the manager of strategic initiatives and utilize outcomes to make optimal changes to programming and operations
Ensure the collection and summarizing of client and service statistics/data on a regular basis.
Ensure that TI management is kept fully informed of developments progress and issues related to the MHC program
Help to maintain established collaborative relationships with community partners to enhance the daily operation and client services of the program.
Provide oral and written reports when required on the operation of the program as required and directed; participate in report preparation and annual reports for review and approval.

Community Engagement
Act as a liaison between the urban Inuit community partners referral workers courts and healthcare health care providers ensuring effective communication and culturally appropriate care.
Facilitate community engagements workshops and events to gather input and feedback on trauma addiction and recoveryrelated issues and initiatives.
Work closely with Elders community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure that Treatment programs are aligned with community needs and aspirations
Cultural Competency
Ensure that treatment programs and services are delivered in a manner that is respectful of Inuit culture traditions and values (aligning with 8 guiding principles of Inuit Qaujimaqatujangiit).
Provide training and resources to all staff on urban Inuit cultural competency and best practices for working with Inuit populations.
Demonstrate lifestyle thats in alignment with cultural best practices.

Cultural Competency
Ensure that treatment programs and services are delivered in a manner that is respectful of Inuit culture traditions and values (aligning with 8 guiding principles of Inuit Qaujimaqatujangiit).
Provide training and resources to all staff on urban Inuit cultural competency and best practices for working with Inuit populations.
Demonstrate lifestyle thats in alignment with cultural best practices

Program Development and Implementation
Assist in the development and implementation of health programs that address the unique needs of urban Inuit communities.
Ensure programs are providing best outcomes by creating appropriate feedback channels for urban Inuit
Prepare reports and presentations for the Director Mamisarvik providing updates on program outcomes and community impact
Human Resource Management
Participate with TI human resources in the hiring of MHC staff as required
Ensure effective orientation and training that supports the development of new staff to enhance effective service delivery and meet program objectives
Provide direct supervision to clinical staff and monitor staff attendance and punctuality
Encourage a participatory consultative team approach to service planning and provision through ongoing interaction with staff.
Evaluate and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff on job performance.

Human Resource Management
Participate with TI human resources in the hiring of MHC staff as required

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Inuit culture values Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and traditional healing methods and practices. Must have knowledge of industry healing programs and approaches including traditional Inuit healing methods.

Financial management skills and the ability to manage a program budget public speaking skills presentation skills group facilitation and community engagement skills strong leadership and supervisory skills conflict resolution skills interpersonal team building skills organizational skills problemsolving decision making and time management skills are required. Theability to function effectively in a busy environment and in stressful situations to coordinate meetings/ events to work with multiple funders and ensuring contractual deliverables are managed effectively to oversee and support program evaluation efforts to understand and utilize client records management software/databases is required.

Completion of undergraduate Degree in social/behavioral sciences psychology social work human service management or a related field of study is required. A masters degree in the same field of study is preferred.
Five years experience in program management is required. Three years experience is required in budget preparation and oversight as well as managing staff. Three years of experience is preferred working preferably in a 24/7 operation or nonprofit organization. Previous experience working in an indigenous organization and/or with the Inuit community is an asset.

Proficient use of MS Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook videoconferencing platforms and electronic records management applications and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check with results acceptable to TI is required. The ability to speak Inuktitut is preferred. Valid drivers license and an acceptable drivers abstract are an asset. Availability of working evenings and weekends as required.
