Resident Physician Family Medicine

This position has been posted for a group of previously identified candidates for this program. 80 hours per 2 weeks varied shifts.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the fulfillment of academic requirements of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and successfully completing all coursework and clinical rotations. In addition responsible for inpatient and outpatient care and documentation as assigned. Patients of all ages served. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with coworkers.

EDUCATION:

• Graduated from medical school within application within 5 Yrs or
• Patient care experience within application of 5 Yrs and
• Medical schools must appear in one of the following directories:
  American Osteopathic Association
  or
• Medical schools must appear in one of the following directories:
  Liaison Committee on Medical Education
  or
• Medical schools must appear in one of the following directories:
  World Directory of Medical Schools

EXPERIENCE:

• Have verified U.S. clinical experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Maintain eligibility for Board Certification as outlined by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Required and
• American Board of Family Medicine. Required and
• Be eligible for a Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license. Required and
• Meet the following USMLE or COMLEX exam requirements:
  Have a maximum of two failed attempts on all USMLE
  Required or
• COMLEX exams across all exam portions. Required or
• USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX Level 3 to be passed of Step 2 (CK) / Level 2 (CE) within 5 Yrs Required or
• The first USMLE/COMLEX exam of starting residency or
• completed the SPEX exam within three attempts completed within 8 Yrs
• International medical school graduates must have ECFMG certification. and
• Current international medical school students must be certified by residency start date. and
• Past international medical school graduates must be certified for interview selection. and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation. Required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to communicate in written and spoken English with full professional proficiency (Interagency Language Roundtable Level 4 with patients and the medical team. Upon Hire
• Able to assimilate information from written sources. Upon Hire
• Ability to make accurate observations and elicit information during patient interactions. Upon Hire
• Able to perform physical examinations minor surgical procedures nonoperative obstetric procedures injections suturing and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well as operating procedural equipment. Upon Hire
• Able to complete 24hour patient care shifts. Upon Hire
• Possess basic computer navigation skills and the ability to input orders and documentation into the electronic health record. Upon Hire
• Qualified to begin work by midJune. Upon Hire
• Able to travel between multiple clinical sites. Upon Hire
