DescriptionThe Hennepin County District Court Family Division invites qualified applications forone Court Operations Associate position in the Child Support Magistrate Office. This is a diverse professional environment that promotes equity for all court staff and court users.
Court Operations Associates work individually and in teams to provide high level customer service to court users and justice partners in person by email and over the phone. This role requires dedication to providing customers with a professional court experience an eye for detail excellent communication time management and problemsolving skills to match our highperformance environment.
Example of Duties
- Accurately complete administrative work by performing highlevel case processing and data entry work for Family Court cases utilizing court technology systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting and communicating with court users in a professional courteous and respectful manner to ensure the customers needs are effectively met in person over the phone or through electronic means by answering questions clerking in the courtroom scheduling hearings and processing court orders.
- Coordinate communicate and collaborate on work with team members to ensure efficient and accurate case processing.
- Provide courtroom support by working with child support magistrates court reporters and other justice partners to effectively manage court calendars meet the business needs of the court and assure equal access for the fair and timely resolution of cases and controversies.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One 1 year of relevant job experience or greater which may include but is not limited to customer service administrative work office and clerical work. (For example: bank teller cashier court clerk legal assistant medical billing specialist)
- OR equivalent education and experience
- As this position will be working partially remotely access to reliable internet connection is required.
Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work well under pressure in a highvolume fastpaced work environment with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with court staff court partners judicial officers and the general public.
- Effective customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to deescalate difficult customer interactions and work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Teamoriented with a positive attitude and the ability to establish and maintain respectful effective relationships.
- Ability to meet commitments and keep projects on task.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve desired results.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new material and concepts.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat or other electronic document applications with the ability to learn other jobrelated software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working well under pressure in a highvolume fastpaced work environment with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge and working experience with a court case processing system such as the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS) eFile and Serve (eFS) and SharePoint.
- Experience exercising independent judgment to perform a variety of tasks in a professional manner.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team to achieve desired results.
- The ability to speak and understand Hmong Somali Spanish or any language other than English.
Supplemental Information
Logistics
Family Court is located in downtown Minneapolis at the Family Justice Center 110 South Fourth Street Minneapolis MN 55401. The core hours for these positions are 8:00 am 4:30pm Monday Friday.
Staff are working in a hybrid model. During the initial training period for up to first 12 weeks this position will work onsite at the Family Justice Center. After the training period there may be an option for hybrid work depending on business needs.
The expected starting salary for external candidates is $21.00 $27.42 per hour $43848 $57252.96 annually. The offer will take into consideration other equivalent qualifications.
The full classification earning potential is $20.42 $34.41 per hour $42657.84 $71848.08 annually with thetop end of the range being what someone could be making after years of service in the role of Court Operations Associate.
This position is non exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible forState of Minnesota employee benefits.
