Location: 10641 US80 Meridian MS 39307
Status: Full Time Monday Friday 8AM5PM

Job responsibilities:
Maintenance Workers are responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of structures electrical systems plumbing washers and dryers heating and ventilation and air conditioning systems in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives.
Essential Functions:
- Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures outlets and fuses as directed.
- Perform minor construction and repair or structural woodwork.
- Install window shades or coverings security locks etc.
- Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures washers seals etc.
- Help prepare surface for finishing including painting as directed.
- Direct inmates assigned to facility maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks of buildings as equipment.
- Perform routine schedules checks of air conditioning systems.
- Perform oncall responsibilities in emergency situations or equipment breakdowns.
- Provide cleaning transportation and moving of equipment as needed.
- Promote the development of positive social skills among inmates through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
- Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
- Recommend contracted assistance when oncenter assistance when oncenter repair is not possible.
- Operate data processing equipment.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and two 2 years related experience including word processing or computer data entry experience preferred. Must be computer proficient. Valid drivers license in the state of Mississippi with an acceptable driving record required unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual inservice training requirements.
