Job Summary:

iC42 Toxicology Lab combines quantitative mass spectrometry drug metabolites endogenous compounds and large molecules) metabolomics (LCMS GCMS and magnetic resonance spectroscopybased) and proteomics under one roof which makes it a very unique facility. iC42 Toxicology is compliant with the rules of good laboratory practice (cGLP 21 CFR part 58 is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and CLIA certified. Accordingly all assays are validated and all analyses are carried out following our standard operating procedures which are based on all applicable CAP CLSI ICH OECD and FDA guidelines.

Nature of Work:

Lab Personnel are responsible for receiving preparation and analysis of human biospecimen samples for patient drug testing for clinics such as the Addiction Research Treatment Services Clinic. These samples must be processed and validated within a 2448 hour timeframe. The only patient information they have access to are the patient name date of birth sex diagnostic code and test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analysis of clinical toxicology samples (LCMS/MS).
  2. Sample receipt and management including handling of leaking samples clean up and hygiene.
  3. Sample preparation; perform manual extraction on test tudes following written SOPs.
  4. LCMS/MS instrument preparation tuning and maintenance.
  5. INDIKO clinical analyzer operation calibration and samples analysis.
  6. Maintenance of a CAP and CLIA compliant clinical laboratory environment.
  7. The analyst will also order and ship supplies maintain sufficient stock supplies perform weekly and monthly checklists and perform other duties as assigned.

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora Colorado.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Laboratory Technician I:

  • Two 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Substitution: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position equal to two 2 years.

Laboratory Technician II:

  • Five 5 years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Substitution: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position equal to five 5 years.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or higher earned degree in biology molecular biology chemistry genetics or related field.
  • Prior experience working with mass spectrometry.
  • Two 2 years of experience or background in an experimental or wet laboratory.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to operate the HPLCMS/MS system Indiko Plus Urine analyzer Hamilton Robotic Liquid Handler.
  • Must be able to operate in a safe manner in a laboratory environment (chemical safety) while ensuring patient data are protected.

Laboratory Technician I: $49972 $57682

Laboratory Technician II: $52212 $60564

The above salary range or hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
