Job Summary:The Director of Risk Management is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies to minimize potential losses and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role plays a crucial part in reducing financial and operational risks particularly those associated with workplace injuries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in risk management strong leadership skills and a proven track record in managing claims effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- Oversees direct reports providing leadership guidance and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement programs to reduce workplace injuries and accidents including safety training and workshops.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential workplace risks analyze injury trends and evaluate safety protocols.
- Work closely with clients to tailor risk management strategies offering expert advice on best practices.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal workplace safety and workers compensation regulations.
- Utilize risk management software tools for tracking analyzing and reporting risk data; oversee the implementation of new software solutions.
- Provide leadership to the risk management team fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain relationships with insurance carriers brokers and external partners to optimize loss control and minimize workplace injuries.
- Analyze loss trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on risk management and loss control matters.
- Stay updated on emerging trends best practices and regulatory changes in the risk management and insurance industries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:- Education: Bachelors degree in risk management insurance business administration or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 510 years in workers compensation risk management.
- Certified Risk Manager (CRM) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles and insurance products.
- Expertise in Workers Compensation and Employers Liability; familiarity with Code Rule 59 and Code Rule 60 preferred.
- Advanced understanding of insurance principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Exceptional communication negotiation and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to interpret financial data and market trends.
- Travel required.
